Crafted from gold vermeil (solid silver with a gold-filled surface), this good sized vintage padlock clasp is in full working order. It is not hallmarked, but i would date it to the 1930s - 1940s.
The face of the padlock features two beautifully engraved forget me not flowers with turquoise stones. The reverse of the padlock features a beautifully banded agate with white and dark brown/black humbug stripes.
It has a good weight of 3.4g and measures 1.6cm wide and 3cm length (incuding its clasp)
This padlock pendant's versitility means you can either slip it onto a split ring or charm bracelet, or thread a fine chain through its side or centre, and wear it as a pendant. The padlock snaps shut firmly so could also be used as a secure clasp for a charm or curb link bracelet.
